I´ve been wondering for a couple of years now (how stupid is that ?!) , why the air seems to be so stale and downright bad in my appartment. This gets worse in the winter. I have atopic dry skin and have had lot of trouble with my voice too. I thought that the air inside should be atleast humid enough since I live near the sea. Well its not. I got me a thermometer from Clas Ohlson with humidity sensors for €15 and found out its actually not the ventilation nor the surfaces that put something “bad” in the air, but instead the air is just -TOO DARN DRY! The humidity has apparently been down to 5%!!! No wonder my voice gets raspy and breathing feels difficult. And this has been a standard for me goddamnit! Healthy quality indoor air has humidity at approximately 35-45% and temperature of about 21 degrees celcius. Well I had to fix this since i mostly work at home. So I got a good ol´UFOX from the 70´s. Got This one for 25€ from huuto.net. This is the smaller model Ufox HK2 and it works great keeping the humidity at about 20-25% at least now when the outside temperature is -5 to -10 degrees celsius. Now the air feels fresh and goooood. If you´re a singer or a studiogeek a UFOX is a total must in the winter time!
Winter air too dry? Get a good ol´ UFOX!

Just remember to clean out the unit often enough, there is a risk of a unit like yours spreading some nasty bugs into the air…
